MEET BRITTANY: A Northeast Iowa resident, single mom of three kids, and a CNA. Without Northeast Iowa Community Action Corporation (NEICAC) “I’d be homeless, my utilities would be off, my kids might not be in proper school education they deserve,” Brittany stated.
Brittany first accessed NEICAC in December 2013, since then she has received assistance with her electric and winter heating costs through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), assistance with her rent, assistance with her internet bill, assistance with her city garbage bill, and food and household supplies through our Food Pantry. Her two youngest children are enrolled in our Head Start preschool program. She shared, “My local Community Action is amazing and always there for the community when needed. They are always up to date with reliable resources.”
By choosing to include NEICAC in your estate plans, you can continue helping neighbors in need long into the future. Your estate doesn’t have to be large to make a difference. “The reason I choose EARL is that the Drivers are Nice and that I want to Ride the transit because I like to see new faces every time I ride. They help me get around to where I need to go. I get along with the Transit Drivers and the passengers.”
